Composed of over 200,000 individual dots, constructed in a precise dotwork halftone style and deliberately presented against a light background, the artwork focuses on the individual. Not on the world around them. Not on time or memory. But on what exists within. At its center is the dragonfly, a fragile link between emotion and intellect. The left eye forms an anatomical heart, the right a human brain, though only fully recognizable upon closer inspection. Both elements merge with the dragonfly's body, symbolizing the constant tension between feeling and rationality that characterizes every human condition. The wings are composed of emotional fragments of human existence. Joy, love, hope, and intimacy stand alongside anger, disappointment, isolation, and grief. Each condition appears only as a fragment. For no one is composed of a single truth. What we call personality often arises from opposites. From experiences, memories, wounds, and longings that exist simultaneously within us. The transparent, almost dissolved structure of the dragonfly reinforces the fragility of the work. From a distance, it appears calm and complete. Up close, it disintegrates into thousands of individual points and fragile connections. This is precisely the central tension of BETWEEN: between thinking and feeling, between control and vulnerability, between what we show, and what we actually carry within us. BETWEEN does not depict humanity as a fixed state, but rather as something that constantly moves between emotions, memories, and change.
